Katowice, in southern Poland, is an important center of commerce, business, transportation, and culture. It’s the home of many national and internationally renowned popular music festivals like Rawa Blues, which is said to be the world’s biggest indoor blues festival.

HOW TO ARRIVE

From Krakow airport and Bus to Katowice:

BUS

  • Direct Bus (Most Convenient & Often Cheapest)

Several buses run directly from Krakòw Airport Katowice (often to Katowice bus station). Duration: approx. 50 min-1h Price: around € 7,00 – 15,00 depending on operator and booking time. Operators: FlixBus, Neobus and others. Booking: You can book tickets online or via bus apps.


TRAIN

  • Krakòw Airport > Krakòw Main Station (Train)

Line: SKA1 (airport train) Travel time: 17-20 minutes Frequency: every 30 minutes (often more frequent at peak times) Operating hours: early morning until late night Where to board: the train station is directly next the airport terminal (signposted, short walk)

  • Krakòw Main Station (Train) > Katowice

Travel time: approx. 55 minutes – 1 hour 10 minutes Frequency: Very frequent – usually 1-2 train per hour Arrival Station: Katowice Railway Station (right in the City Centre)

  • Train types you’ll see

PKP Intercity (IC/TLK) – fastest and most comfortable Regional Trains (Polregio/Koleje Śląskie) – slightly slowed but cheaper

From Krakow Airport and Train to Katowice:

  • Airport Bus (Best Option – Direct & Affordable)
  • Official airport buses run directly to the city centre
  • Lines: AP, AP2, AP3
  • Travel Time: 45-60 minutes
  • Frequency: every 30-60 minutes (day & Night services available)
  • Price: approx. PNL* 20-30 (€ 4,00-7,00)
  • Tickets: buy online, at machines, or sometimes from the driver
