The heart of European blues beat strong in the “UNESCO City of Music” this April, as the 14th edition of the European Blues Challenge (EBC) reached its thrilling conclusion.
Organized by the European Blues Union (EBU), the event transformed Katowice into the continental capital of the genre from April 16 to 18, 2026.
After two intense semi-final nights at the Katowice City of Gardens (Miasto Ogrodów), the grand finale moved to the prestigious NOSPR Concert Hall, a venue world-renowned for its perfect acoustics. In front of a sold-out crowd and a jury of international experts, the best blues acts from across Europe competed for the most coveted title in the industry.
The Winners of 2026
The 2026 edition showcased an extraordinary level of talent, but it was Adama Janlo (Norway) who ultimately took the top spot. Her performance, characterized by a powerful fusion of blues, soul, and R&B, captivated the audience and judges alike, earning her the 1st place trophy.

Special recognition was also given to Tom Eylenbosch (Belgium), who received the Special Award Solo/Duo, highlighting the future of the genre with his exceptional piano skills.
